July 20, 2015

I hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing summer with friends and family despite the blistering heat outside. It's hard to believe that in just three short weeks it will be time to head back to school! As teachers and administrators prepare for the 2015-2016 school year, I would like to take this opportunity to remind families of some important safety issues that surround bus transportation. It is no coincidence that Madison City Schools Transportation maintains a very good safety record transporting children to and from school. We take our job very seriously. And while records are important, we feel that we can do even better. That's why I need your help. In the last couple of years, we have had an increasing number of instances where students will not follow the directions of their bus driver. This can pose a potential safety hazard for all riders. I am hoping to prevent such situations from occurring in the future by providing you with a list of .. Rules and Regulations" to share with your children before they ever get on their bus. Please remind them that these rules are in place for their safety and the safety of others. Also, it might be helpful to let your children know that the bus is an extension of their classroom so the rules that apply there also apply on the bus. With your help, I know we can continue to provide your children with the safest mode of transportation available to and from school.

Thank you for your help with this matter
