I graduated from Nordonia Hills High School in 1983

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Comprehensive Science Education from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio in 1987

I completed my Master of Science in Comprehensive Science Education from The University of Akron in Akron, Ohio in 1993

I earned my Instructional Leader Certification 2017


I came to Madison City Schools after 11 years teaching in the Mentor Public School System near Cleveland, Ohio.  Prior to beginning my teaching career, I spent a year as a professional softball player/coach in Florence, Italy.  I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a Comprehensive Science Major from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio in 1987.  While at Kent State, I was awarded four varsity letters for softball.  I attended The University of Akron, in Akron, Ohio where I obtained my Master of Science Degree in Science Education in 1993. In 2017 I completed my Instructional Leader Certification.

As a teacher in the Mentor Public School System, I was named the Lake County Science Teacher of the Year. At one time, in the Frey Scientific Catalog I had for sale "The Atom Can"  which I created and developed for classroom use.

In 2015,I was named James Clemens Teacher of the Year, and also the Madison City Schools Secondary Teacher of the Year. In 2016 I was named to the Alabama Teacher of the Year "Sweet 16" as I was named the District VIII Teacher of the Year. 

I have coached a variety of sports and clubs. Here at Madison City Schools I have been a softball coach and girls golf coach. I have sponsored Chemistry Club, and Science Olympiad. 



I am married to Rob Bohatch
We have two children: Emily and Katie

I enjoy gardening and outside activities.
