Chemistry Club (or Chem Club) is an organization focused on exposing students to chemical concepts, real-world applications, and hands-on experiences that go beyond the typical high school course of study. Students will participate in demonstrations and experiments at school. Students will also have opportunities to demonstrate science concepts in local elementary and middle schools to ignite interest in STEM-based careers. Students will hear from guest speakers that have chemistry-based careers and may also choose to participate in community-based science fairs.
Cost: $25 cash or check (made out to JCHS) during the 2024 - 2025 school year, which provides each student with a Chem Club shirt and access to more hands-on experiments.
Chemistry Club will have monthly meetings in person and hands-on lab experiments. Guest speaker presentation dates will be announced at club meeting dates and via club messaging systems (GroupMe). Mrs. Steele will serve as Chem Club sponsor this year. For additional questions, contact Mrs. Steele (Room A110) via email: kfsteele@madisoncity.k12.al.us .
