Black Student Union 

The Black Student Union (BSU) is a student-led organization that celebrates Black culture, history, and achievement while creating a welcoming space for students of all backgrounds to connect, learn, and support one another. Our goal is to build community, promote cultural awareness, encourage leadership, and empower students to make a positive impact in our school and community.

Our goals are to:

  • Celebrate Black history, culture, and achievements.

  • Create a supportive and inclusive community for students.

  • Promote cultural awareness and understanding throughout our school.

  • Encourage student leadership, confidence, and academic success.

  • Provide opportunities for service, outreach, and community involvement.

  • Help students feel seen, valued, and empowered to use their voices.

Membership

 

Membership in the James Clemens High School Black Student Union is open to all students, regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, disability, gender identity, or background. All students are welcome to participate, learn, build community, and support the mission of the organization.

Any student who is currently a member of the James Clemens High School Associated Student Body may join the Black Student Union.

Annual dues are $25 and may be paid to the club sponsor or through My School Bucks on the James Clemens High School website.
