WELCOME TO CLUB AMERICA!

Club America is the official James Clemens High School chapter of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), a national organization dedicated to identifying, educating, training, and organizing students around the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government.

Our goal is to create a community at James Clemens where students can learn, participate, lead, and engage in respectful conversations about America's history, government, culture, and future.

You do not have to be a political expert to be a member. You simply need to be willing to learn, participate, and contribute.

WHAT WE ARE

Club América is a student-led organization designed to give students an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about American government, history, and political ideas

  • Discuss current events and issues that affect our country

  • Meet other students who are interested in America's future

  • Develop leadership and communication skills

  • Participate in school activities and community events

  • Have respectful conversations with people who may hold different opinions

  • Become more informed and engaged citizens

Our chapter is part of a larger national organization, giving students opportunities to connect with other young people across the country.

WHAT WE DO

Club América is more than a weekly meeting. Our members will have opportunities to participate in a variety of activities throughout the school year.

CLUB MEETINGS

Discuss current events, American history, government, political ideas, and issues affecting students and our communities.

GUEST SPEAKERS

Invite speakers to campus to share their experiences, knowledge, and perspectives.

WATCH PARTIES

Watch and discuss debates, documentaries, speeches, and other relevant programming.

CAMPUS ACTIVITIES

Participate in tabling, awareness activities, Constitution Day activities, and other campus events.

SOCIAL EVENTS

Build friendships through activities such as pizza nights, game nights, and other student-centered events.

DEBATES & DISCUSSIONS

Create opportunities for students to respectfully discuss important issues and learn how to communicate their ideas effectively.

These activities are designed to be shaped by the interests and ideas of Club América members.

CONSTITUTION DAY

September 15

Celebrate Constitution Day with a campus activity recognizing the importance of the United States Constitution.

AMERICA JEOPARDY

Late September

Teams compete in an America-themed Jeopardy competition for prizes while testing their knowledge of American history, government, and culture.

CLUB DEBATE

Late October – Early November

Students participate in a structured debate on an important topic while practicing research, communication, argumentation, and respectful disagreement.

WEEKLY CLUB MEETINGS

Regular meetings throughout the school year provide opportunities for discussion, activities, planning, and fellowship.

These events are based on the schedule included in the original Club América document.

BECOME AN OFFICER

Club América is looking for students who want to take an active role in building the organization.

Leadership opportunities may include:

  • President

  • Vice President

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

  • Social Media
