National Computer Science Honor Society
The purpose of this organization is to encourage students’ enthusiasm for computer science, to honor academic excellence, and to promote service. Society members and advisors commit to and embody three core values: equity, service, and excellence.
Program Fee Structure FAQs
As of May 2026, the CSHS Program fee structure is changing to reflect the needs of the program and to better support our advisors and students. This fee structure is now live. CSHS charter fees now include CSTA membership for the CSHS advisor.
Program Fee Structure
- $150 Renewal Fee for an existing CSHS
- $6 Pins with a $10 shipping cost
- $4 Graduation Cord with a $5 shipping cost
Applications for the Honor Society will be made available the third week of January each year.
We will have an advisory board consisting of a Director, Assistant Director, Treasurer and Secretary. These positions will be filled by the member voiting. The term shall consist of 1 year from October 1 to September 30 each year.
To be eligible for the CS Honor Society you must have taken Programming Foundations, Objected Oriented Programming and enrolled or registered for the AP Computer Science A (Java) course. The GPA for the CS courses must be 3.6 (90%). The overall (weighted) GPA is 3.6.
Qualifications for National Computer Science Honor Society:
- Must be in 11th,or 12th grade
- Must have completed Programming Foundations and Object Oriented Programming I
- 3.6 or higher cumulative GPA (weighted)
- 3.6 or higher GPA for Computer Science Courses
- Courses included:
- IT Fundamentals
- Programming Foundations
- Object Oriented Programming I
- Objectd Oriened Programming II
- AP Computer Science Principles
- AP Computer Science A
- AP Networking
- AP Cybersecurity
- Courses included:
New Membership is by invitation only once verification that all requirements have been met by the applicant.
The cost is $35 per year.
